I personally think there is very little difference in either. The game looks good fun, and I think you're one virgin freak if a bit of screen tearing and lens flare differences are a problem in your life.
I'm going to wait for some reviews and possibly pick it up for the xbox - As I care more for my Achievements than I do my trophies - Sad but true.

I was going to get this - But I am not spending loads on DLC just to get the full experience. It's all DLC nowadays - I can't remember the last time I bought myself a fully complete game :/
It can take 30 minutes for a game to update and install on my PS3. On my Xbox it takes 1-2minutes for similar sizes. It does fuck me off when I forget and sit down to play something only to be left waiting around for the PS3 - no amount of fanboy goggles will make it go away.

I think it's a bit different with with sports sims, as it is always nice to play the most up to date rosters and you'll be surprised how many new features tend to pop up in them. However with something like COD the only thing that will change is the scenery - which can be achieved with DLC anyway (Battlefield Vietnam DLC for example).
They'll definitely be a market for it as you said. I personally will be swerving this and move just like I did the Wii, but it has a lot of potential for the younger audience.
